FREE 7,500 American Airlines Miles for Test Driving a Cadillac!

American Airlines has a new partnership with Cadillac in which certain elite members can receive a tarmac transfer in a Cadillac at some of American’s hubs when making a tight connection. To promote this partnership, American Airlines is offering 7,500 free AA miles to members who test drive a Cadillac!

The only way to take advantage of this promotion is to call the Cadillac Concierge at 844-469-2234 and schedule an appointment for a test drive. There is no commitment to buy the car or do anything other than take it for a test drive lasting “approximately 10 minutes”. This might cross some people’s ethical line to take a test drive and waste someone’s time when you have absolutely no intention to buy the car, so do what makes you feel comfortable.

I called to schedule my own test drive but did have to wait on hold about 30 mins until a rep picked up. They took down my personal information and AA # and asked which dealership I’d like the appointment at – it was a breeze and took all of 5 minutes to book a Saturday appointment to test drive a CTS. Here are the full terms and conditions:

*At participating dealers only.  Must have an AAdvantage account and be 21 years or older with a valid U.S. driver’s license.  Employees of General Motors are not eligible. Retail value: $221.00. Test drive lasts approximately 10 minutes.  Offer valid while supplies last.  Limit one test drive per person.  Allow 4-6 weeks for miles to be awarded after confirmation that test drive has been completed.  Offer is nontransferable, nonnegotiable and not redeemable for cash.

If you live near a Cadillac dealer and don’t mind spending some time testing out a brand new Caddy, this is a no-brainer promotion. The 7,500 AA miles are worth roughly $100 to me. Essentially, I am getting paid (in miles) to test drive a new luxury car – Sign me up!

Point & Center: Another Free 1,000 Air Berlin Miles, New Centurion Lounge at LGA and More Free Miles!

It’s been a bit of a slow week in the points and mile world but let’s recap what you might have missed.

1) Another Free 1,000 Air Berlin Miles – I posted a similar deal a few weeks ago on how to get a 1,000 Air Berlin miles for free via their partnership with Sixt. This time a duty free store called Heinemann is offering 1,000 miles if you register for a Heinemann account online. Do I know anything about Heinemann? Nope but I’m not going to let that stop me from 1,000 free miles. Remember to use an email address you don’t care about to signup for this account.

2) New American Express Centurion Lounge at LaGuardia Airport – American Express is in the process of opening several lounges around the US that offer higher end food, beverages and massage services while you wait for your next flight. The lounges in Dallas and Las Vegas are currently open but View From the Wing broke the news that the LaGuardia lounge will be opening in the next week. He has several pictures of the lounge and the menu, which looks quite tasty. Access is complimentary if you are a Amex Platinum card holder. The one downside I see is that the lounge is landside which means you will need to budget some extra time to go through security.

3) Free 100 Airlines Miles from Baltimore Airport (BWI)- Via Doctor of Credit, if you signup for a free BWI rewards account, they will give you 100 airlines miles in the program of your choice! You can choose from American, United, JetBlue, Southwest, Delta among others. You could also receive 200 hotel points but the programs listed (Hilton, Wyndham and VOILA) don’t make it worthwhile for me to choose this option. Here is a direct link to this offer.

4) American Express Sync Deal for $5 off $25+ Purchase at Bed, Bath & Beyond – If you are an American Express cardholder, you are eligible for certain promotions and deals Amex offers under the “Amex Offers For You” tab in your account. This month one of their feature offers is $5 off a Bed, Bath & Beyond purchase of $25 or more. Now you might be thinking you have no need to shop at BBB but they sell gift cards to other stores including Starbucks, Subway, iTunes and a bunch others. I have 4 Amex cards myself so I can save $20 bucks on my next caffeine pit stop at Starbucks.

Free 400 JetBlue TrueBlue Points at Points for Surveys

Update: I found a survey on beer that claimed it would take 7 minutes but really took closer to 5 minutes. The 400 points have already posted  to my JetBlue TrueBlue account. Not bad for 5 minutes of “work”.

This deal won’t make anyone rich points-wise but JetBlue has teamed with a new survey site, Points for Surveys, to offer a new way to earn TrueBlue points in addition to offering a 400 point bonus for completing your first survey.

400 Bonus TrueBlue points for 1st Survey

400 Bonus TrueBlue points for Completing 1st Survey

It was very quick & easy to register but I have not had a chance to actually complete a survey yet. In poking around on the site, it seems most surveys pay out 50 to 200 TrueBlue points per survey and the estimated time for each was 10 to 20 minutes. Unlike other survey for miles websites, including E-Rewards and E-Miles, you can only earn TrueBlue points at Points for Surveys.

JetBlue Survey2

Due to the length of time and minimal payout for an individual survey, I won’t likely complete any surveys after the initial one to earn my 400 point bonus.  But if you find yourself with a bunch of extra time and desire for some TrueBlue points, this might be worthwhile to top off your existing TrueBlue balance.
